Lake Tahoe Real Estate Market Report for 4/20/20

I’m optimistic that the “Shelter in Place” order will be lifted soon! More people have reached their limits with cabin fever. It’s evident as there are more cars on the road. So, I thought that I would take advantage of less traffic and I road my bike around the lake. It wore me out, but the lake scenery was worth it.

This past week the real estate market on the South shore of Lake Tahoe has been showing positive activity. Surprisingly, 3 of the 5 new pending sales were homes that just came on the market within the last 10 days. The east shore on the Nevada side is still somewhat quiet.

Here are the numbers from the past week beginning on April 6th, 2020. This data is extrapolated from the South Tahoe Association of Realtors MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and the Northern Nevada Regional MLS.

It won’t be long before we see the buyers break loose and come to Tahoe! In the meantime, I’ve been creating videos for clients that are seeking a better look at properties that interest them the most.

There are people that are currently making day trips to Tahoe to physically view homes. As I mentioned before, we are now taking precautions while viewing. It has been recommended that only two may enter the home at a time. Before entering the home, the agent will open all the doors and turn on all the lights. Agents will be carrying disinfectant and wiping all doorknobs and light switches. It is also recommended that agents and clients drive in separate cars. Real estate agents will be wearing masks and gloves. I recommend that you do the same.

The real estate tour experience will be a little different but keeping you and the public safe is our priority. I look forward to a busy month in May!!
