Lake Tahoe Real Estate Market Update for 6/15/20

The tourists are back in town and enjoying the outdoors en masse. Among them are home buyers! As the inventory of homes for sale is low, the better values are being scooped up quickly.  If you have been thinking about renting your property, there is a new website to help connect renters, property managers and homeowners. Here are the numbers from the past week beginning on May 4th, 2020. This data is extrapolated from the South Tahoe Association of Realtors MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and the Northern Nevada Regional MLS.

California South Shore

  • 29 New Listings
  • 31 Pending Sales
  • 13 Closings
  • 4 Withdrawns

Nevada East Shore

  • 7 New Listings
  • 14 New Pending Sales
  • 6 Closings

The real estate sales are extremely strong and shrinking the number of homes for sale. It is looking more like a seller’s market as the buyer demand has been in overdrive for the past month. It is becoming more common to see multiple offers as the buyer competition intensifies. Interest rates have been on the rise with intermittent fluctuations up and down. Combined with the Bay Area migration to Lake Tahoe, the market conditions are ripe for sellers to market their properties. Home sales are selling in every price bracket ranging from $325,000 to $2.5 million.
